Shelley had given up on the not thinking about Mr. Coffee. He seemed to invade her thoughts at random. Her sex had not helped either. He had definitively gotten her attentions.
She logged back into her profile and checked her messages. She gasped. Mr.Coffee had sent her an additional communication. She giggled while she read the note.
"Hey, you said I was right about something, but your message was not clear." He wrote.
She thought it was an attempt to continue their conversation on friendly terms. She felt a less guilt than before when she had used him repeatedly to satisfy her insatiable lust. She began to type a note to suggest that they talk at the next gathering. First, she needed to find out more about him.
She flipped through his photos. Her heart dropped. He had a significant other or, at least, it appeared that there had been someone in his life. Shelley was partially disappointed but not surprised. He was an attractive man that seemed to have his life in order. His profession was one that required charm, so she thought that it made sense that someone would have fallen for him. Shelley had already decided that she could fall for his type.
She sighed. Her journey to get to know more about him had started. Once Shelley had begun to nose around, she wanted to know more. She opened a new browser and read some of the excerpts of his work. His work was neatly composed, and Shelley cringed.
She wanted her version of Mr. Coffee. Her fantasy lover that was uncommitted, equally passionate, and a skilled lover with intelligent conversation. The kind of man the gives you butterflies. The kind that stirs the grown and sexy until you want to put on lingerie and pin your hair up, and wait for him to come to you, Shelley wanted to sip wine, talk and then screw his brains out. The reality of life pinched her hard.
Shelley looked over his site and then clicked on a blog link. She smiled as she read the content. He was into poetry. She sat and read every page. Shelley loved poetry which is how she had ended up at the meeting. His words flowed smoothly and precisely to her, both in person and on screen.
Shelley had experience with many of the fine arts. Poetry and literature were much like Mr. Coffee, to her. Each person had their flavor that they enjoyed. As the saying went, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder(Oliver Platt)" She found his unedited thoughts inspired and unique.
Shelly twirled her desk chair and looked at her empty bed. The crumpled sheets told the story of her love life. She had broken it off with Blake, and she might never get a sip of Mr. Coffee. Shelley began to tap her fingers nervously, on the side of the chair.
"Okay Shelley, you ending up with Blake for this reason. Just because you were single and impatient. Companionship had started to become important to you. You have gone to great lengths to avoid a serious one. What did this man do that is different about him, for you. Come on girl, think. Every other piece of eye candy only got as far a one stand in your fantasies, for the past few years. Hell, you even fantasize the part where you throw them out and tell him that "a single man can go home and use his bathroom and toothbrush." This guy just hangs around your mind. You are thinking too hard. " Shelley grumbled.
Shelley swung her chair back towards her computer. She began to close the browser windows. The last one happened to be a picture of Mr. Coffee from his website. He stood poised and waited. He appeared slightly anxious, to her. She reached out and gingerly touched the screen with her index finger.
She gasped and quickly pulled her hand back. Her heart began to pound hard She thought that she could hear her heart echo in her ears. Shelley's nostrils flared, and she inhaled sharply.
The sensation had shocked her. Somehow the connection had been established. She was beyond his heart and in their combined thoughts and he could too. His chi had called out to her, in the most intimate way possible. She could not turn that off quickly. First, she needed to decide, if she wanted to turn it off at all.
